- Meet Some KIRL Racers:
Bill Hartwig has had an amazing run through 6 seasons of Ken's Indoor Racing. When season one ended back in 2004 Bill was 3rd in the standings in spite of running only part of the season. From then on Bill has had nearly perfect attendance and has accumulated 6 consecutive PRO-KIRL Championships! A lot of people think Bill is just a kart racer and have no idea that he has raced full size stockcars all around the country. He has even qualified on the front row in a race alongside the late Davey Allison! This summer Bill was seen racing his stockcar on the ROAD AMERICA roadcourse where he was fast qualifier of the weekend amongst some of the biggest dogs ever to race on the track!

Aaron Katzenberg is fresh off his 5th place finish in the 100 lap team kart race at Brodhead with teammate Jobe Cerny...during the summer race season, Aaron could be found racing his Super Latemodel at Slinger Speedway.
Michael Bilderback was seen racing the full Big 8 schedule along with many other appearances throughout the midwest in his latemodel and super latemodel.
Tony Velez has been busy this summer moving up the ladder in his pursuit of a future in stockcar racing. He has continued racing his Supercup racecar and netted 8 wins. The biggest highlight of 2009 was his selection into Ron Sutton's gong show for racing hopefuls. Over six hundred young guns were reviewed and 100 were selected for interviews. Of those 21 were selected to fly out west for a racing audition. As of this writing, Tony was one of those lucky 21!
Nick Petska had a remarkable summer racing his minisprint throughout southern Wisconsin and finished an impressive 2nd in points in his secondfull season of open wheel racing!
James Swan ran his second full season in a latemodel and was also seen racing a midam sportsman as well as an open wheeled modified! He raced Slinger, Madison, Jefferson, Rockford, Kaukauna, Golden Sands, and LaCrosse Speedways throughout the summer. On one night at Slinger not only did he race back to back features in a latemodel and a sportsman but he also won each feature! The 2009 Big 8 Rookie of the year nailed down a solid 2nd in points in 2010 while winning the Slinger sportsman championship by a ton!
Josh Nelms has had a relatively short career in stockcar racing but it is certainly not without numerous highlights. His biggest win to date came last October at Rockford Speedway when he won the prestigous Short Track National Championship! His impressive 3rd place in the ASA LM North standings also earned him the 2009 Rookie of the Year title among some stellar company!
Ross Kenseth has fit one KIRL appearance into his busy Latemodel schedule in 2010. The 2009 Big 8 Latemodel Champion has a bright future ahead wherever he chooses to race!
Becca Kastenhas spanned the Southern Wisconsin latemodel racing circuit. Her resume is quite impressive and viewable at her website. Just click on her name. If her schedule permits we expect to see her make the trek down from Milwaukee to "school" some of the boys!
Dave Edwards has been seen racing 3 different classes of cars in the last two years. It is our understanding that Dave intends to run his latemodel at Rockford and Slinger speedways in 2010.
Jerry Giuliano raced sporadically throughout the summer in his mini-modified but when he raced he ran consistently in the front and was seen in victory lane often.
Daniel Ivaska has been racing the legends series for the past 3 seasons. He and his #13 1937 Dodge sedan have been working their way up thru the ranks. Daniel is a fierce racer who loves to have fun off the track while riding snowmobiles and atvs in the off season.
Jack Rabey was seen making select appearances in his latemodel at the Jefferson Speedway. His main focus this summer was bringing the bad guys to justice in Vernon Hills. Detective Rabey is planning on attending the full KIRL season however!
Bill Wirth raced his sprint car in the highly competitive IRA Series all around the midwest.
Kenny Ivaska has relinquished the circle track racecar keys to his son Daniel but he did not give his kid the keys to his 8:81 street legal 1981 Trans Am yet. Kenny is back racing his baby on the 1/4 mile when he's not crew chiefing his son's car. Kenny's shifter kart racing skills always show when he's racing KIRL events.
Tommy Jones the oldest of Tom Jones Sr. two sons races Legend cars throughout the Midwest. In 2010 look to see Jr. in a Latemodel.
Andy Jones raced regularly at the Grundy County Speedway in his Legend racecar prepped by TOM JONES RACING in Wadsworth, IL.

Blake Brown use to be a force on the national legends racing scene but lately he is one tough cookie in a latemodel. Click this to see an in-car video from Blake's legend car in Las Vegas in 2007.
Rick Corso is the master switch hitting! He drives 4 different types of racecars in the same season every year. His 2 latemodels always stay on the pavement but his rascal outlaw and his minisprint were bred for the dirt where he races them but he has turned his rascal into one wicked pavement machine thats so hooked up he never lifts in the turns!
Scott Pierce
has very little time left in his busy schedule for any racing other than KIRL. Scott spends his time away from his full time job and family working hard as an Antioch, IL village trustee. For summer recreation Scott heads up to the Dells with his family and boat.
Justin Kane spent the summer sharing crew chief responsibilities on James Swan latemodel team.
Bob Walczak was seen racing his street stock regularly at the Wilmot Raceway.
Jobe Cerny "the voice of the Pillsbury Doughboy" and author leaves his recording studio on the weekends to race his "hot-dog" race kart in the HPV3 and Yamaha Pipe class.
Dan Church was a Pro-KIRL rookie in 2009-10 but he is a veteran on the southern Wisconsin dirt and asphalt tracks. His experience has deep roots in the dirt and more recently has expanded to various asphalt tracks. Dan quickly adapted and found himself qualified to run the Pro-KIRL Super-Final.
Austin Luedtke joined the Pro-KIRL rookies in 2009-10 season. In 2009 he raced his first season in a Mid-AM Sportsman at Slinger Super Speedway and placed 8th in the points. So far he has raced at Kaukauna and Rockford Speedways. In 2010 Austin campaigned his sportsman in the Mid-AM Series and drove a Super Late Model at Slinger Super Speedway.
